Our director Steve Teal was a little daunted when he was invited by a customer to be an after-dinner speaker for the first time recently.
President of the local branch of the Catenian Association, Chris Nash, had a pretty good idea that Steve would be an engaging orator for their dinner on 14th June – and he was not disappointed.
Armed with a pie each for the audience to take home, Steve was, of course, destined to be popular. The welcoming guests meant he soon warmed to the role, entertaining the audience with tales of his childhood memories helping his Dad out at the shop after school, just as founder, young Jack Macefield had helped his uncle back in 1898.
Everyone had lots of questions for Steve and the evening was enjoyed by all.
He’s now taking bookings…
